There is no getting away from the Tiger
Even in the Rio Dulce,Guatemala, where the only mode of transport is Lancha, the big brands have already cornered the market. At $3 a gallon I don´t think they make quite as much as at home and it isn´t really in keeping with the jungle surroundings and amazing wildlife, but it gets people from A to B I guess.
I didn´t spot a Tiger T-shirt on the Captain either so perhaps they are yet to benefit from the Tiger tokens.

Things I like # 1 Mexico City´s pollution control
Mexico City is one of the most polluted cities in the world. Yeah, I know there are loads of places like this around the world, but what is cool about Mexico City is that they ban cars from driving on certain days in order to keep pollution levels stable. Cars are issued with a number plate that states the day that they are banned from driving in the City. When pollution levels rise they increase the driving ban over the weekend.
This is much better then any congestion charge that merely earns the government money but does little to reduce congestion and reduce pollution in the our Cities. I liking the no nonsense approach of Mexicans.

Egg customer segmentation
The most honest ad ever?
I saw this whilst watching a Mexican version of Tarrant on TV. I wonder how many creatives would admit to just wanting to create great big, expensive ads?

Brands I now love # 1 Flor de Cana
For any fans of out there who like a good rum you should definitely seek this brand out. Flor de Cana is a Nicaraguan ´ron´that has been in existence since 1890. Admittedly it probably tastes even better because it´s dirt cheap but in my opinion it surpasses my previous favourite Mount Gay. However, it does still give you a thumping headache. And as they say, time flys when you are having Rum! Thanks Jane and Sophie for looking after me.

I´m not in the mood for blogging...
With the floods in Mexico I feel kind of crap blogging about my mere, unimportant observations on Mexican life and communications.
I was only held up a few days in Tobasco so no big deal for me but I would hate to imagine what millions of people are going through up there. According to the Mexican President it´s the worst disaster in Mexican modern history and even bigger than the New Orleans, hurricane Katrina disaster. I was surprised that it didn´t make the homepage of the BBC site for more than a day!
I´ve loads to say about Mexico, it´s a great place but I think I will hold off for a bit.
